The electricity at Enchanted Mountain is 220, and it is therefore recommended that any electrical appliances you bring ( like toothbrush re-chargers) are fully charged to last the week.
Most laptops are already 110-220.
To use hair dryers, you will need a transformer from 220 to 110. Dont be confused by international plug adaptors that are sold in many travel stores. These only allow you to change the shape of your plug, and do not transform electricity from 220 to 110. If you bring a hair dryer make sure you have the proper adapter.
Our reception has wi-fi, but you need to have your own laptop.
The best way to call out is Skype from your laptop or cellular phone that allows international calling. However, many cell phones do not get good reception at the center. In town is better. International calling cards do not work well.
• It is recommended that you consider going off the grid as much as possible to make the most of your retreat experience.
Brazil is a beautiful ecosystem and preserving the natural resourses is very important to us and the planet. For this cause, we provide each guest one set of clean sheets for the week. We offer lite-housekeeping mid week as well as fresh towels. This conserves resources and helps us to keep costs reasonable as well.
We invite you to enjoy a beauty and a relaxed pace here where you can slow down, learn yoga, and enjoy nature.
It is necessary to have the required travel documents to enter Brazil. You need a valid passport with a tourist visa. The fee for Americans is $140 plus a service fee for a courier to hand deliver your passport and visa application to the Consulate of Brazil for your jurisdiction. Please refer to the websites below and follow the instructions carefully. We suggest using the service listed to expedite the process and if you think you may be returning to Brazil it makes sense to get the 5 or 10 year re-entry visa. We will send upon request, the center's contact information for you to include on the visa application. Also make sure your airline tickets are in the exact names as your passport and visa.
If your group comes in together, we can arrange a shuttle ( approximately US$20 each way).
If group members are coming in individually, your best bet is to get a few people together and share a taxi ( approximately US$ 80 each way per taxi).
Enchanted Mountain is located approximately 50 miles south of Florianopolis. Take highway BR101 South until you reach the Garopaba turn off. Go 7 Km on the road to Garopaba until you reach the neighborhood of Encantada. Turn left on to the main Encantada Road and continue for 1.5 miles until the road dead ends at Enchanted Mountain Yoga Center.
